UNITRUNK CHECKS IN TO STOKE-ON-TRENT’S HILTON PROJECT
Cable management specialist, Unitrunk, is providing cable ladder, trunking tray and basket for a new £20 million Hilton Garden Inn project in Stoke-on-Trent as part of the mixed use Smithfield development in the Hanley area of the city.
Constructed by main contractor, Pochin, the 140-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Stoke-on-Trent is due to open its doors to its first guests by the end of 2019 and has been funded with the help of a £6.9 million investment from Stoke-on-Trent City Council and a £2.96 million grant from the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). The construction project is due for completion in November and electrical contractor, Carter M&E selected Unitrunk through wholesalers Rowley Electrical Distributors for the cable management thanks to the ease and speed of use of the company’s RIS (Rapid Installation Systems) solutions.
Unitrunk’s cable management systems will be installed in the new hotel’s corridors, communal areas, bar and kitchen to provide the infrastructure for all power, data, low voltage and alarm system cabling. With tool-free, faster installation from both the company’s UniKlip cable tray and Easyconnect cable basket, the Carter M&E team can reduce installation times by up to 50%, helping to keep the business-critical, fast-track installation programme on schedule.
Rob Hope from Carter M&E comments: “Unitrunk’s complete cable management offering means that we can procure all our cable management requirements for the project from a single UK manufacturer, ensuring we always have the materials we need on site, aligned to the programme.
“The UniKlip ‘klip’ fasteners and Easyconnect’s integral coupler make it much faster and easy to install both the cable tray and cable basket requirements for the project and our team particularly likes the 60mm Easyconnect basket with its double wire and the divider that reduces the number of individual runs of cable basket required.
“Unitrunk’s RIS cable management systems are helping us to keep the installation on track and will provide a robust electrical infrastructure for this prestigious hotel brand.”
