MADDEN JOINS UNITRUNK’S MANCHESTER TEAM AS COMMERCIAL LEAD

Tom Madden

Cable management specialist, Unitrunk, has appointed Tom Madden to the post of commercial lead at the company’s Manchester depot.

The appointment is part of a strategic move by Unitrunk to leverage its national depot network and drive customer engagement around the UK and Ireland. In addition to the Manchester depot, the company has depots in Harlow, Bristol, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Livingstone and Dublin, along with stockholding at its manufacturing sites in Cheshire and Lisburn, and the commercial leads will utilise this presence in the regions to support both wholesalers and contractors, adding value to the sales process with technical advice and rapid turnaround to enquiries.

Tom joins Unitrunk following a 14-year career in the electrical wholesale sector, where he has worked for both independents and major players in the North West across a variety of sales, field sales and managerial roles. As a result, he brings a clear understanding of what wholesalers and contractors are looking for from a product supplier to the Unitrunk team, along with knowledge of the Unitrunk RIS (Rapid Installation Systems) range.

Tom explains: “I wasn’t actively looking for a career change but the opportunity to move into a completely new role with a product manufacturer that has taken a unique approach to both its product design and commercial structure was too good to miss. Unitrunk is the only UK cable management supplier with a national depot network and this post allows me to combine an office-based role with an opportunity to engage with both wholesalers and contractors so that we can be more responsive to their requirements and ensure we meet them quickly and appropriately.

“The benefit of moving to a supplier from a wholesale environment is that I know what questions to ask and where we can help ease the pressure for both wholesalers and contractors. With so much construction activity taking place in Manchester and across the North West there is a great opportunity to drive sales growth and my aim to support the Unitrunk team in Manchester in grasping that opportunity with both hands with a service-led approach.”
